Who is it for?

Microbiome+® is a natural extract from citrus fruit designed to beneficially modulate the microbiome composition in the gut. It’s a first-in-class Flavobiotic® that protects the gut barrier and leverages the gut microbiome’s potential. This results in enhanced immune health, as well as anti-inflammatory effects.

What is a Flavobiotic®? Microbiome+® consists of specific flavonoids that provide a unique dual effect on gut health. MicrobiomeX® has a direct effect through active metabolites and an indirect anti-inflammatory effect on the gut. A positive shift in the gut microbiome leads to a beneficial short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) profile which improves gut barrier function and enhances the immunity in the gut.

*Butyrate is a short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) that is considered the best product for the microbiome. It has strong anti-inflammatory properties, imprboves mucosal immunity, nourishes the intestinal lining, and prevents gut permeability.

Clinically proven benefits

The health benefits of MicrobiomeX® have been assessed in two randomised, double-blind clinical studies, which demonstrated its beneficial effect on gut and immune health.

Gut inflammation & immune health

After 12 weeks of daily supplementation with 500mg of MicrobiomeX®, a strong reduction in faecal calprotectin was shown compared to the placebo group. Calprotectin is an important biomarker of gut inflammation, and its reduction suggests a decrease in pathogen load in the gut.

Additionally, recent clinical evidence demonstrated that MicrobiomeX® significantly increases the secretion of antibodies (IgA) in the gut lumen, indicating better protection against colonization by pathogens and viruses.
